The Aarhus Chamber Music Festival presents a captivating concert evening, where Nordic sounds, traditional folk music and romantic classics converge in one musical experience. When some of the North's leading musicians perform, an atmosphere is created where past and present intertwine in vivid musical expression.
The program unfolds between Nordic folk music, Danish traditions and classical works. Cellist Tanja Zapolski and pianist Jonathan Swensen open with Hilda Sehested's Fantaisie Pieces for cello and piano and Edvard Grieg's celebrated Sonata for cello and piano. After a break, the Danish String Quartet presents together with several ensembles a varied repertoire, including classical minuets, Danish folk songs such as "Dronning Dagmar" and "Kisti du kom", as well as traditional pieces like "Stormpolskan".
The concert takes place at Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium and is free. You can arrive without a pre-booked ticket – come early to secure a seat.
