Join the premiere of The Shadow's Song — a unique picture book without words, accompanied by a full musical composition created specifically for the story.
The performance is created through collaboration between composer Bilal Irshed, illustrator Baraa Awoor, and author Anne Sofie Allermann. Through images and music, we follow a boy struggling with his own shadow — a shadow that appears larger and more frightening than others'. When he seeks shelter by a large wall, he encounters music emanating from the shadow itself. There he finds peace and accepts his darker self. The family recognizes the melody and sings along — and the shadow returns to its natural size.
A poetic story about managing fear and the healing power of art. The tale's mythic character opens itself to both young and old as well as diverse cultural and social perspectives. Perfect for children from age 3 and their parents seeking something deeper and more meaningful than everyday entertainment.
