ARoS invites you to Art Hour for a debate and conversation about German art from the 1910s to the Second World War and onward to the beginning of the 1980s. Based on the exhibition Frihedens fald and with perspectives to Ulydig. Kroppen i Punk, the event explores how art can act as resistance to authority, a cry for freedom, and a force for change in periods marked by political unrest, war, and social tension.
The evening panel consists of Museumsinspektør Jakob Sevel, Post.doc Marie Arleth Skov and Museumsinspektør Jens Tang Kristensen. The conversation takes its starting point in Germany's turbulent history and looks at Berlin both as a cultural centre at the beginning of the 20th century and later as an activist scene in the punk movement in East and West Berlin. The event is free and exclusive to all ARoS annual pass holders, and you are welcome to bring one guest free of charge. Meeting point: Niv. 3, Auditoriet. Registration is required for you and any guest.
