This workshop provides an overall view of the financial opportunities in the creative sector and focuses on how to build a funding model that connects ambitions, practice, and economy. Together with designer Stine Mikkelsen, participants will work with value creation, pricing, and fundraising to develop a concrete plan for a sustainable working life.
You will gain insight into different approaches to valuing your work, an understanding of the creative sector’s “patchwork economy,” and an overview of relevant income sources. The workshop also includes concrete tools and templates for pricing your own services and projects, as well as methods for preparing professional project descriptions, realistic budgets, and relevant appendices for fundraising.
Instructor Stine Mikkelsen works at the intersection of crafts and design. She has studied at design schools in Denmark and abroad and has run an independent artistic practice since 2017. Alongside her own practice, she has built experience in mentoring and communication as a teacher, speaker, panel participant, and examiner. Through De Kreatives Forretning, she offers both business and artistic mentoring focused on creating coherence between ambitions, practice, and economy.
The workshop takes place at Forbundet Arkitekter og Designere, Aarhus. Participation is free for members of FAOD, but registration is required. The number of participants is limited, and coffee/tea/water will be available during the workshop.
