Bach to Beatles brings together music from different eras in a program where Johann Sebastian Bach meets Luciano Berio's interpretations of Beatles songs. The festival musicians and Den Danske Strygekvartet will also perform works by Alfred Schnittke, Henry Górecki and Igor Stravinsky. Johann Sebastian Bach is regarded as one of the most important composers of the Baroque era, while Den Danske Strygekvartet is a renowned Danish ensemble with an international reputation.
The program includes: Alfred Schnittke - Suite in Old Style (1994) with Clemente Prudencio and Jonas Willaume; Luciano Berio - Beatles Songs for sanger og ensemble (1965) with Emilie Haaning and ensemble; Henry Górecki - Koncert for cembalo og strygere (1980) with Tanja Zapolski and ensemble; after the interval Johann Sebastian Bach - from Die Kunst der Fuge: Contrapunctus XIV (1749) and Vor deinem Thron tret' ich hiermit (1750); and Igor Stravinsky - Suite Italienne for strygekvartet (1933) - approx. 18 min. The concert is part of Aarhus Kammermusikfestival 2026 and takes place at Musikhuset Aarhus. Admission: 90-175 kr.
