A captivating meeting between jazz big band sound, classical strings and woodwinds, and Indian classical music. The Jutland Music Conservatory's big band and sinfonietta collaborate with musicians from India's musical tradition for a concert full of colors and improvisations.
Tabla player Zuheb Ahmed Khan, renowned as one of India's rising stars on hand drums, returns alongside saxophonist and composer Lars Møller. Through decades, Møller has created a unique fusion of jazz and Indian music, mastering the microtonal raga universe on his saxophone. They meet now with shehnai musician Asheaani Shankar and students from the Conservatory's classical department.
The music plays with elements from all three musical cultures, leaving room for both Western and Indian improvisations. Expect an exciting interplay between Khan and Møller as a duo and together with the conservatory musicians.
