Meet Japanese author Hiromi Kawakami for a literary conversation at BookTalks on 28 October. Kawakami discusses her novel Under the Eye of the Big Bird, released in Danish in October. The work unfolds over fourteen consecutive episodes spanning geological eons and depicts humanity's decline in a distant future where people are on the verge of extinction and live in small tribes across the globe.
The discussion is led by Agnethe Brounbjerg Bennedsgaard, Ph.D. student in Comparative Literature at Aarhus University, and interpreted by Anemone Platz, associate professor in Japan Studies at Aarhus University. The event takes place in English.
Following the discussion, guests are invited to book signing and sales, followed by a communal meal where the conversation can continue in an informal setting.
