Two bands at Phono: Cola presents its third album C.O.L.A. (Cost of Living Adjustment), an intricate and beautiful work that deepens the band's musical expression. With members Tim Darcy, Evan Cartwright, and Ben Stidworthy on board, the record explores nostalgia, life choices, and societal questions through romantic, subtle, and intense music. Tracks like "Hedgesitting" combine live drums and sample loops in a lush, deconstructed sound inspired by The Cure and Sarah Records.
Date Camp is a new Danish post-punk band composed of musicians from Yung, Narcosatanicos, Yune, and Trader. Their music is tempo-driven and seems to skip beats – called "krautrock in odd meters". With guitar music as upward momentum and art punk and krautrock as the anchor point, the band creates a world of unpredictable, simultaneously gentle and hard presence.
