Datterselskabet is developing a feminist chamber opera based on Emma Holten's book Underskud (2024). The project examines how the value of care is often downplayed in classical economics and transforms society's calculation models into stage drama, where numbers, the body, and emotions meet.
The performance seeks to renew a classical genre by bringing economics and opera together in a new expressive language. The event takes place at Åbne Scene på Godsbanen. Emma Holten is a Danish author and public commentator known, among other things, for her work on digital violence and feminist social analysis.
