Can a blood test detect Alzheimer's before symptoms appear? How can lifestyle changes help prevent dementia? What treatment options are available today – and what lies ahead in the future when the disease strikes?
Approximately 100,000 Danes over 65 years old currently live with dementia, with Alzheimer's being the most common form. In addition, families experience the emotional and social burden that comes with living with dementia.
In this conversation, Niels Okkels, physician and lecturer in dementia research at Aarhus University, and Rikke Gregersen, senior researcher at the Center for Prevention and Rehabilitation at VIA University College, highlight the latest knowledge on early detection, treatment, and prevention. They explore how medicine and insights into lifestyle, daily routines, and social connections can strengthen brain health throughout life. The conversation is moderated by journalist Louise Sloth.
