Dokk1 opens its doors to a day filled with activities, debates and experiences focused on children, democracy and citizenship. Children, parents and interested adults are welcome to participate in workshops, lectures and conversations about the importance of democracy for young people.
Activities for children
- 10:00: Reading games – picture books come to life through play and imagination
- 11:00: Children and architecture – exploring children's favorite places
- 11:30: The power of things – play circle where objects gain voice and agency
- 13:00: Theatre featuring Mutter Grib's "The Children Who Had to Fetch Flour at Pibe Mill" – children and adults participate, followed by creative drawing and painting

- 11:30: We Want to Be Heard – about the children as citizens project
Talks and debates throughout the day
In-depth discussions with experts on playground democracy, democratic education, history of pedagogy, play culture, practical democracy, John Dewey, school and democracy, literature, Danish kindergarten traditions and children's wellbeing in a democratic society.All day
