Doric String Quartet returns to Aarhus Musikforening with a concert spanning the English musical tradition across three centuries, concluding with one of Beethoven’s most significant chamber works. The programme places Henry Purcell’s 3 Fantasias and Benjamin Britten’s String Quartet No. 2, op. 36 alongside Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet in C-sharp minor, op. 131.
Doric String Quartet is a renowned British string ensemble, especially known for interpretations of the classical and romantic quartet repertoire. The concert is part of Aarhus Musikforening 2026/27, a season marking the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s death.
