Climb aboard the Helene and let yourself be transported to a world of atmospheric jazz on Danish waters. In collaboration with The Royal Academy of Jutland, two of jazz's greatest talents are presented.
September 18: Guitarist Jens Christian Kwella and bassist Peter Friis – a duo with over 30 years of musical partnership – bring their only performance at Aarhus Jazz Festival. With a repertoire filled with jazz classics and original compositions, they create a swinging and present-focused expression that has delighted audiences at ARoS Art Museum, Musikhuset Aarhus and other prestigious venues.
October 23: Legend Finn Odderskov meets Kwella for an interpretation of selected jazz and swing classics. Odderskov is known for his long career in Danish jazz, from traditional swing to modern expression.
To preserve the intimate atmosphere, only 45 tickets are available per concert. Music can be heard on both decks, with the best acoustics on the lower deck. The venue opens half an hour before the start – and you can pre-order a cheese platter (95 DKK per person) when booking your ticket.
