Do you enjoy exploring English-language literature and dream of discussing books in inspiring company? Dokk1 offers two English-language book clubs – one meeting on Mondays and another on Tuesdays – both welcoming spaces for literature enthusiasts.
Each month, the clubs tackle a new work, and members gather to share thoughts and perspectives. Sessions include book discussion, coffee, and time to get to know one another in a cosy atmosphere.
The clubs read international fiction across continents and genres – from classics like Vladimir Nabokov and Flann O'Brien to Nobel Prize winners such as Abdulrazak Gurnah and Kazuo Ishiguro, Danish authors including Olga Ravn and Solvej Balle, and experimental works by Sayaka Murata and Yevgenia Belorusets. Current literary trends such as k-healing are also on the agenda.
The clubs welcome the international community in Aarhus as well as Danes keen to practise English in a literary context. Both clubs are currently fully booked, but you can join the waiting list by contacting [email protected] – simply specify which meeting time suits you best.
