This family concert with Aarhus Symphony Orchestra focuses on Carl Nielsen and the many sides of him as a composer. Actor Jens Andersen guides the audience through a lively narrative where humor, imagination, and drama are woven together with the music, allowing the story of Carl Nielsen to unfold in close interplay with the orchestra.
The program includes well-known songs such as Jeg ved en lærkerede and Solen er så rød, mor, as well as excerpts from Carl Nielsen's 2nd and 3rd symphonies. The concert features music from the 2nd Symphony De fire temperamenter, where the audience is invited to listen for moods and human character types. Carl Nielsen is regarded as one of Denmark's most important composers and is especially known for his symphonies and songs, which are still widely sung today.
The concert is a collaboration with Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium. Conductor: Ragnheiður I. Jóhannsdóttir, and Jens Andersen appears as host/soloist. Venue: Musikhuset Aarhus. Admission: 50-120 kr.
