A powerful theatrical performance about sibling love, rootlessness and the environment from which Yahya Hassan's poetry emerged. Based on Steffen Stubager's 2024 book, where Yahya's mother and four siblings — Kawther, Khadeeja, Abd Al-Salam and Abdullah — tell for the first time about their childhood in Trillegården near Aarhus and their family's struggle through displacement, refugee trauma and societal challenges.
Award-winning Iraqi-Danish director Sargun Oshana dramatises this story of a hidden reality in contemporary Denmark. The four siblings are played by Ellaha Lack, Zere Celik, Arian Kashef and Wahid Sui. Kurdish singer and musician Rezwan Taha composes new music and songs and also performs on stage.
