Aarhus libraries invite high school classes to an interactive session about censorship, book bans, freedom of expression and democracy. The event is part of the #ForbiddenBooks campaign and aims to deepen students' critical understanding of these central democratic concepts.
Through disagreement training, practical exercises and open discussions, students explore how censorship affects society and what freedom of expression means in practice. The session is designed to strengthen both critical thinking and empathetic reflection, as students' own perspectives are actively included. Minimal preparation is required — a brief refresher on the concept of freedom of expression is recommended before participation.
