This event explores energy communities, green transition and Aarhus' upcoming climate strategy. It is the 15th in a series of lectures and debate evenings hosted by the Aarhus Wind Energy Association (FVEA), which promotes citizen engagement in wind energy and renewable energy in Aarhus Municipality through community-owned projects.

The programme consists of three parts:

  • Carl Jakobsen from Bedsteforældrenes Klimaaktion (BKA) presents opportunities in energy communities and BKA's perspectives on Climate Plan 2025-2035.
  • Peter Esmann and Anders J. Jensen from FVEA review Aarhus' new Climate Plan and Energy Plan, renewable energy targets, current status of wind turbine expansion, technological changes in turbine sizes towards 2028, and the advantages and disadvantages of different size categories.
  • Concluding public discussion and debate.

The event is free and aimed at citizens and those interested in learning more about Aarhus' energy transition and opportunities to participate in community-owned energy projects.
