Attend an informative lecture evening on 29 September, where health professionals present important information about radiotherapy as a treatment for skin cancer.
Common skin cancer, also known as non-melanoma skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma), is Denmark's most common form of cancer. Statistics show that one in five Danes receives this diagnosis during their lifetime – an increase many people are unaware of.
The programme begins with an overview of how the disease is identified and which cases where surgery is the standard treatment. The main focus then turns to radiotherapy, which is presented as an important alternative for patients where surgical removal is not appropriate. The experts review patient waiting times, the effectiveness of treatment, and possible side effects and cosmetic results – both from a medical perspective and from patients' own experiences. Particular emphasis is placed on the treatment of skin cancer in the facial region.
The evening concludes with an opportunity to ask questions directly to the lecturer and participate actively in the discussion.
