This edition of the lecture series 'Formiddagskunst' focuses on the current exhibition The Populace, created jointly by the Danish artist Nina Beier and the American artist John Miller. The talk explores how the two artists use everyday objects to reveal stories about value, power, and hierarchies, and how familiar things take on new meanings when they become art. It also presents selected works by both artists, including works by Nina Beier in ARoS' collection, as well as the art historical traditions that have shaped them across two generations.
The event takes place at ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum, with meeting point in the Auditorium on Level 3. The price is 75 kr. ex. museum admission, and if you do not have an annual pass, remember to buy an admission ticket. The lecture is presented by ARoS' education assistant Martin Bjerg Dahl, stud.mag and bachelor in Aesthetics and Culture with a supplementary subject in art history.
