How does physical activity affect not just our bodies, but also our minds, quality of life, and mental wellbeing? This lecture explores the connection between exercise and psychological health and examines how physical training can become a tool for recovery and empowerment for people with mental vulnerability.
Clinical professor Julie Midtgaard from Psychiatric Center Glostrup and University of Copenhagen presents research on the subject. You will gain insight into the Vega project, which in collaboration with Arca Aarhus investigated the value of crossfit training communities for psychologically vulnerable young people — and how fitness can have therapeutic effects.
Practical info: This event is part of the Folk University's knowledge festival Hearts & Minds. Tickets are free. The venue is Dokk1/Aarhus Central Library.
