Experience the magic of Christmas in full force when the Royal Danish Theatre presents George Balanchine's classic version of The Nutcracker at Musikhuset Aarhus. This mechanical masterpiece from 1954 enchants the entire family with its imaginative staging of E.T.A. Hoffmann's fairy tale.
The performance follows young Marie, who receives a Nutcracker as a Christmas gift. When the midnight hour strikes, she is transported to a magical world filled with snow queens, dancing flowers, dangerous mice, and most notably the magnificent Sugar Plum Fairy. Based on Tchaikovsky's iconic musical composition from 1892, this is a family experience that offers both children and their parents a chance to reconnect with the enchantment and wonder of childhood.
A true Christmas performance that will make both young and old hearts beat in time.
