Sleep is fundamental to our well-being and energy in daily life. For many people, however, nights are filled with restlessness, worry, irregular sleep rhythms, or a persistent feeling of inadequate rest. Sleep disturbances can affect anyone, but often become particularly pronounced during stressful periods, when anxious, or experiencing psychological imbalance.
In this conversation, specialist psychologist in psychiatry Henny Dyrberg from Psychiatry House and Aarhus University Hospital, and clinical nursing specialist and researcher Sanne Toft Kristiansen from Aarhus University Hospital, explore the underlying causes of sleep problems, the critical importance of sleep for health and mental well-being, and practical solutions when sleep doesn't come naturally. The discussion includes sleep rhythms, non-medical treatment methods, and the use of weighted blankets for insomnia. The moderator is science journalist Line Friis Frederiksen.
The event is part of the Folk University's knowledge festival Hearts & Minds and takes place at Dokk1/Aarhus Main Library. Admission is free.
