The Danish Egyptological Society and the Antiquities Museum invite you to a lecture about Cairo's spectacular new museum by the pyramids. Tine Bagh, museum inspector at the Glyptotek, presents the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) – a colossal complex housing over 100,000 objects.
The museum officially opened on November 1, 2025, after years of planning and construction. Tine Bagh, who has visited GEM several times, provides a precise overview of the galleries and shares her personal favorite pieces – many connected to the Glyptotek's Egyptian collection or her previous projects. Highlights include the complete collection from Tutankhamun's tomb, which became publicly accessible relatively recently.
A fascinating evening for everyone interested in Egyptology and museum adventures.
