Two extraordinarily heavy sludge metal bands collide in an evening of crushing, atmospheric soundscapes. GRAVA, a Faroese-Danish trio from Copenhagen, has carved out a reputation since their formation in 2020 with their 2022 debut album "Weight of a God", a work that explores humanity's final moments through the lens of the dying. The album's themes of death and existential weight anchor their aggressive, distortion-laden approach—deep guitar riffs, thundering bass, and relentless drums paired with raw, unfiltered vocals. Their success has earned them slots at prominent venues and festivals, and they have shared the stage with respected acts including UFOMAMMUT, PIGSx7, KATLA, and HALSHUG.
Morpholith, an Icelandic outfit, brings their own vision of apocalyptic doom and sludge to the proceedings. Since emerging in 2017, they have built an impressive touring resume across Scandinavia and beyond, appearing at festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Høstsabbat, and Iceland Airwaves. Their full-length debut, "Dystopian Distributions of Mass Produced Narcotics" (2024), showcases a heavy, riff-obsessed sound inspired by Iceland's volcanic and barren landscapes. Expect a visceral, uncompromising night of music for fans of extreme metal.
