Learn to use breathing as a tool to find calm and mental balance. Deep and conscious breathing is an effective method to reduce stress and anxiety and improve your overall well-being. When the body experiences stress, the fight-or-flight response is activated, which raises your heart rate and makes breathing fast and shallow. By focusing on your breathing, you can stimulate your body's parasympathetic nervous system and activate the vagus nerve, which supports your body's natural calming system.

This guided breathing exercise is led by neuroscientist Karen Johanne Pallesen. Participants will receive headphones so you can fully immerse yourselves in the exercises and experience how breathing can become a path to calm and mental balance. The event is part of the Folk University's knowledge festival Hearts & Minds.
