Meet Frank Jensen, former operational chief of the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET), for a conversation about crisis management at the highest level. Together with DR journalist Maja Flinthøj, who has covered defence, emergency preparedness, and societal crises over many years, this event takes the audience into the control room where critical decisions are made under pressure.
Frank Jensen shares personal accounts and concrete anecdotes from his long career in the police and PET. He has served as intelligence chief, counter-terrorism chief, and operational chief from 2007–2021, and has managed some of Denmark's largest crises. Following the tsunami in Southeast Asia, he led the Danish relief effort as chief criminal inspector at the National Police, which claimed 46 Danish lives. During the Muhammad Crisis, he became operational chief at PET, where he helped prevent several serious terrorist attacks on Danish targets.
The conversation explores the central questions: What dilemmas arise when crisis strikes? How do you make decisions when time is short, information incomplete, and consequences could be severe? And what do you do when there is no manual? You will gain a unique and honest insight into what actually happens behind the scenes when society is placed under pressure.
