Iffernet (FR) and Mourir (FR) play a concert at Phono, presenting two distinctive takes on French black metal. Iffernet was formed in Rouen in 2018 and performs in a stripped-down setup of guitar, drums and vocals. The duo released two full-length albums in 2019 and 2022 through Vendetta, Breathe Plastic, WV Sorcerer Productions and Rope or Guillotine, has played in Copenhagen, Berlin, Warsaw, Zagreb and Budapest, and appeared on Roadburn Festival's off-program in 2022 as well as twice at the Icelandic Nordanpaunk Festival. After a split LP with the Italian band Dolpo in 2024, their third full-length will be released on March 20th, 2026 through Vendetta Records (DE), Breathe Plastic (NL), Fiadh Productions (US) and La Harelle Collective (FR).
Mourir began as the project of former Plebeian Grandstand bassist Olivier L. and developed from his one-man project Vermine into a full band with members from BRUIT, Toucan and Drawers. The Toulouse quartet combines inspiration from the early Norwegian black metal forefathers with a more dissonant French approach. Their new album "Nous, Le Venin" will be out on July 10th 2026 on Pelagic Records, and the band has scheduled appearances at Soulcrusher, Hellfest, Resurrection Fest and Rock In Bourlon.
