Institut for (X) celebrates 17 years with a two-day festival filled with music, art, film, and community in true DIY spirit. Throughout the weekend, you are invited to experience and participate in a diverse cultural celebration spanning multiple art forms.
Program
Friday, October 2: Kicks off with open performance "Dialog på Tværs" featuring Ane Athena Laursen, Nithu Thava, and Karen Nørskov. Exhibitions, workshops (live shirt design with Jimmie Sommer, barrel painting with Stelios), local artist marketplace, guided experience tour, and food offerings with Vores Ven and Piki Piki. Evening features the opening of "Neuro Pirated Spaceship", followed by concerts from MOFO and Ritmo Criminals, and DJ sets into the late night.
Saturday, October 3: Dance flow with Yasmin Vieira da Silva, urbanist tour, experimental instrument-maker sessions, suminagashi workshop (Japanese paper art), and food culture. Evening includes a DJ set in a "living film" by Danley Søren, screening of "Feel Free to Fuck Up", fire and circus show with Aarhus Flow and De Splittergale, plus concerts and DJ sets late into the night.
Practical
Tickets available at the venue or pre-booking. Ticket price is donation-based to support the institution's activities. The program is built on open calls where artists and working groups create activities themselves – entirely DIY-driven.
