Jembaa Groove + Oja

African Footprint brings a musical journey with the Berlin-based group Jembaa Groove, blending afrobeat, highlife and jazz into an unforgettable concert experience. The band opens their 2026 tour with a renewed lineup and brand new material deeply connecting them to Lagos' dynamic Afro-Fusion universe.

Jembaa Groove collaborates with Nigeria's renowned Highlife revivalists The Cavemen and features guest appearances from Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara, Nigerian artist Tim Lyre and London-based soul singer Azekel. Following sold-out European concerts, festival appearances and an acclaimed KEXP session, the band returns with ever-growing international momentum.

The evening opens with Oja, an Aarhus-based dance and drum group with over 20 years of experience conveying West African traditions from Senegal, Guinea, Ghana and Ivory Coast. Founded by Ghana-rooted Jesse Gorr, Oja actively invites the audience into dance, drumming and community — no one sits still.
