Joe and the Shitboys is a queer vegan punk band from the Faroe Islands, formed with the purpose of criticizing conservative attitudes and disrespectful behavior. The band targets homophobic and misogynist individuals as well as those who harm the planet – wherever they encounter bad vibes.
The concerts are filled with energy and feature a barrage of songs, often under a minute long, such as "Save The Planet You Dumb Shit", "Life Is Great You Suck" and "If You Believe in Eating Meat Start With Your Dog". The songs are interrupted by the charismatic frontman, who entertains the audience with witty remarks and provocation. The band's members are Joe, Ziggy Shit, Johnny Shit and Ollie Shit.
The group has performed in the most unconventional venues – on rooftops, in public toilets, at museum openings, and on skateparks – and has also appeared on numerous major festival line-ups across Europe and North America.
