A cultural gathering where you can experience Greenlandic culture and traditions up close. The event explores what life is like in Greenland with its unique conditions – from the absence of trees to extremely long winters and midnight sun summers – and how the culture is flourishing again after generations of suppression.
The program features welcoming experiences: starting with coffee, tea and cake, followed by folklore storytelling, a presentation on Greenlandic history and its significance for modern Greenlanders, and concluding with authentic Greenlandic cuisine including fish soup and local delicacies. The entire event is conducted in English and is organized by Avalak and Studenternes Hus Aarhus as part of the Culture Meets series – a network of monthly gatherings where people from around the world share their cultural heritage and traditions.
