Repurpose old library books and give them new life as fantastic monsters! In the workshop, we take retired books from the library's basement and transform them into creative artworks with eyes, teeth, fur and quirky monster embellishments.
The KREA Workshop opens twice weekly and is about experimentation, imagination and the joy of creating together. Each week the workshop has a new theme – sometimes you work on larger collaborative projects for the library, sometimes you focus on smaller details. Whatever the case, the workshop is driven by curiosity.
You will cut, paint, shape, glue, print, draw and experiment with materials ranging from cardboard and natural fibres to paint, textiles and recycled items. Perfection is not the goal – the most important thing is to dare to try, feel the materials and discover new creative paths. Around 90 % of all materials are recycled, collected through the library's daily operations, found by staff, brought from home or donated by the workshop's regular users.
The event is open to children and adults with no experience requirements. You will receive guidance and inspiration, while the children set the course themselves. Together we create a safe and fun community where creativity has room to flourish.
