Explore the Øgade neighborhood through architecture and school history with Charlotte Appel, one of the historians behind the five-volume work Danish School History. She takes you on a journey through time and shares stories about schooling in the neighborhood across the decades.
During the walk, you will visit Samsøgade School, which opened in 1914 as a state-of-the-art auditorium school. The building was designed by some of the period's most talented architects and still stands as a testament to an era when quality and visionary design were prioritized in children's learning environments.
Meeting point: In front of Laursens Realskole on Hjelmensgade. Coffee will be served at Beboernes hus after the walk.
