Intermediate is the third level in swimming school and builds on the foundation that children establish at Beginner level. Teaching focuses on developing new skills in rescue and mastering the basics of front crawl and backstroke through play and practical training.
Children work towards being able to swim longer distances on both back and front with breathing control underwater, dive down to 2 meters depth, and perform a header dive from the edge or stool. A particular focus is teaching children to move with confidence in water without a buoyancy belt – an important milestone for building the foundation for stronger swimming. Training uses badges Crawl 1 & 2 and Backstroke 1 & 2 from SwimDenmark's AquaChamp concept.
Prerequisites for participation are that children have attended Beginner level or master the skills from this level. A competent coach on the poolside and two assistant coaches in the water conduct the instruction. Free trial training is offered.
