This masterclass focuses on the German artist groups Die Brücke and Der Blaue Reiter and their place in art history. It takes a closer look at how Die Brücke, led by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, and later Der Blaue Reiter with among others Franz Marc and Vasilij Kandinskii, came to play a major role in the development of Expressionism not only in Germany but internationally. The session also puts their work into perspective by looking at other Danish and international artists who likewise work with an expressive style in their art.
The masterclass is led by ARoS' education assistant Martin Bjerg Dahl, stud.mag and bachelor in Aesthetics and Culture with supplementary studies in art history, who has extensive experience in art historical communication, including lectures. The event takes place in the museum at ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum, with meeting point in the Auditorium on Level 3. Price: 100 kr. ex. museum admission. If you do not have an annual pass, you must also buy an admission ticket, but on the day your admission ticket can be refunded if you purchase an annual pass.
