Meet Vonbjørt Vang, winner of the Nordic Council's Literature Prize 2025, as she reads from her award-winning poetry collection Sort Orkidé (Svørt orkidé). The collection portrays a dark and demanding parenthood – the story of a mother whose son gradually disappears into addiction and psychiatric crises.
Behind the poems lies a brutally honest exploration of the paralysis and powerlessness that can fill the parental role when one cannot avert the worst. In conversation with researchers from Afmagt.dk, Vang will shed light on the feelings and dilemmas the collection addresses. The event is part of the series Conversations About Powerlessness, a collaboration between LiteratureXchange and the humanities research project Afmagt.dk at Aarhus University.
Practical: A LiteratureXchange 2027 star ticket grants free admission. Students at Aarhus University also have free admission. Other tickets cost 30 or 60 DKK. A seat reservation must be made in advance.
