In this lecture, Professor of Music Therapy Hanne Mette Ochsner Ridder from Aalborg University focuses on how music affects the brain and mind. Based on her research into the connection between music and dementia, she shows how singing can be used concretely to improve quality of life, and how familiar melodies can awaken memories and emotions even when language fails.
The lecture also broadens the perspective by exploring how music can support well-being, relationships, and quality of life for all of us. The event is part of Folkeuniversitetets knowledge festival Hearts & Minds. It takes place at Dokk1/Aarhus Hovedbibliotek, and admission is 50 kr.
