Nive and The Deer Children combine warm storytelling, Arctic atmosphere, and americana folk in a distinctive musical universe they call Inuit indie. With her small red ukulele and her band, Nive creates a personal sound where Inuit folk, Nordic melancholy, and americana merge.
Nive is Inuit, a singer, and a songwriter. She released her debut album, Nive Sings, in 2012, created in collaboration with John Parish, known for his work with artists including PJ Harvey and Tracy Chapman. Since then, she has toured extensively in the USA and Canada, won awards in both Denmark and the USA, appeared in Ridley Scott's series The Terror, performed in the film The New World with Colin Farrell, and played with The Black Keys and Howe Gelb. In January 2026, she returns with her first album since Feet First (2015).
