Oh No Dinosaurs feat. Frej Førstevælger

Oh No Dinosaurs feat. Frej Førstevælger is a newly written concert created for its world premiere at turkis. The work was made by composer and drummer Frej Førstevælger in collaboration with composer and bassist Jens Mikkel Madsen, who also leads the band. The concert explores what makes music human in a time shaped by perfection and artificial intelligence, with a focus on rhythm, groove, shared listening, and the bodily sense of time.

The music is performed by Oh No Dinosaurs, featuring Jens Mikkel Madsen (bass), Frej Førstevælger (drums), Dan Hjort (synth/piano), and Signe Jacobsen (synth/piano). Jens Mikkel Madsen works with rhythmic flexibility and phrasing inspired by Nordic song tradition and the energy of jazz, while Frej Førstevælger examines the tiny shifts in timing that arise when music is played by humans rather than machines. Frej Førstevælger is also known from Bagland and I Think You're Awesome, while Jens Mikkel Madsen also plays in I Think You're Awesome and Øyunn.
