Disability researcher Emil Falster shares insights on ableism and pathways toward a more equitable society. How is the world designed for some but not others? If you can navigate school, work, public transport, and healthcare systems without barriers, it's likely because things are designed with your body and functions in mind. For many people, the reality is different – they face daily discrimination and limitations because society's structures favor so-called "normality".
Falster, author of the book Ableism, highlights how our conception of normality creates inequality and what responsibility we bear in driving change. The event is arranged in collaboration with Danske Handicaporganisationer Aarhus, which also provides sandwiches, water, soft drinks, and coffee.
