Two of Denmark's most respected blues and roots musicians take the stage together: Paul Banks and HP Lange. Banks is an American-born guitarist and vocalist who has been a defining force on the Danish music scene for nearly half a century. With his virtuoso guitar playing and original songwriting, he moves freely between folk, blues, and jazz — both as a solo artist and alongside artists such as Sebastian and Hanne Boel. During the 1980s and 1990s, he led the legendary Musikorkestret and has also gained recognition for his collaboration with jazz saxophonist Steen Vig.
HP Lange is equally iconic within Danish blues and roots music and, like Banks, has received the genre's most significant awards. Beyond classical blues, he has recently explored oldtime and zydeco with his band HP Lange Big Gumbo.
