Experience the woodwind section in focus at this concert, where the strings, brass and percussion have the day off. This allows both musicians and audience to immerse themselves in the distinctive tones that the woodwind instruments deliver.
The event is part of the "RAMA CLASSIC" festival at Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium, which over three concerts on Friday and Saturday presents each orchestral group in turn (strings, woodwinds and brass plus percussion). An additional concert on Saturday features all groups in succession. The music is performed by the conservatory's students under the guidance of an instructor, and each concert is introduced by an experienced teacher from the institution.
Unlike traditional symphonic concerts, where it can be difficult to distinguish individual instruments and sections, the RAMA CLASSIC concerts offer audiences an intimate experience of the orchestra's different groupings. For students, working in these smaller ensembles develops their ability to listen carefully to one another and to blend the instruments harmoniously in their interplay.
