Experience a fascinating evening dedicated to Pink Floyd, one of rock history's most iconic and visionary bands. Thomas Ulrik Larsen, one of Denmark's most experienced music presenters, takes you on a journey through the band's development from experimental rock group to world stars.
The evening combines stories, audio clips, images and anecdotes about Pink Floyd's triumphs, conflicts, scandals and masterpieces. You will gain insight into the concerts and albums that shaped both Danish and international music history – from their performance at Vejlby-Risskov Hallen in 1970 to their later gigantic stadium productions and groundbreaking stage shows. Classics such as The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall are explored through both music and history.
Particularly interesting is that Pink Floyd themselves performed on this same stage in 1970, which gives the lecture a uniquely meaningful connection to the hall's own music history.
Thomas Ulrik Larsen holds a cand. mag. degree in musicology, is a guitarist and songwriter. He has held over 350 music lectures since 2012 and specialises in British and American rock music from the 1970s as well as Danish rock. He was among other things co-host on DR's P6 Beat and has been official music presenter at Østre Gasværk Teater.
