Red Cross Aarhus celebrates its 150-year anniversary with a festive charity concert at Musikhuset, where music takes center stage in honoring the organization's remarkable history while bringing together community, compassion, and solidarity. Some of Denmark's most respected musicians gather to mark this milestone and create an evening that unites artistic excellence with social purpose.
Conductor Peter Vuust, an acclaimed jazz bassist and composer, leads the evening alongside the ensemble 5 x Vuust and the orchestra LiveStrings, complemented by a lineup of established guest musicians. Among the featured artists are Mike Andersen, known for his intense blues and soul expression, Lau Højen with his thoughtful songwriting craft, Dpha, who tells personal stories through pop music, and Bye Bye Brenda, recognized for authentic americana tones. Together, these artists create a concert evening filled with musical depth, warmth, and a profound sense of community that extends far beyond the traditional concert experience.
A central aspect of the anniversary concert is its charitable purpose. For 150 years, Red Cross Aarhus has worked with people in difficult life situations, and the concert proceeds go entirely toward the organization's more than 50 local social initiatives, which make a significant difference for thousands of people each year.
Practical information: The concert takes place at Musikhuset Aarhus. Entrance fee: 400 Danish kroner. The event is supported by Salling Fondene.
