This evening brings two captivating bands to Phono: the Berlin-based trio Roomer and the Copenhagen-based alt-pop project Yvonnes.
Roomer is formed by lifelong friends and collaborators Ronja Schößler, Ludwig Wandinger, and Luka Aron. The band blends voices from Europe's experimental, folk, and electronic music scenes, creating a sound that moves between shoegaze density, diary-like songwriting, and sonic exploration. Their music holds opposites in balance – clarity and blur, structure and drift, intimacy and collapse – through guitar-driven, expansive songs woven from noise, melody, and memory.
Yvonnes is an alt-pop band from Copenhagen with dusty 90s aesthetics meeting the contemporary, drawing inspiration from bands like Mazzy Star and Beach House. Their sound combines riffs and intricate guitar-bass patterns with live-played drum loops and vocalist Nicoline Hasselbalch's captivating voice. Through short, delicate, and melancholic songs, Yvonnes captures the city's apathy and the restlessness of life as a young adult.
