Enter a Copenhagen-based upper-class home and discover the fascinating story of the Royal Mint Master's Mansion. An experienced guide takes you on a detailed tour through the house's remarkable journey from its golden age to present-day decline.
A central part of the experience focuses on the restoration process. How do you reconstruct a home to its original state from over 300 years ago? Which furniture and interior details need to be restored? Which colours and wallpapers created the original atmosphere? These questions are explored through meticulous research and craftsmanship. During the tour, you gain insight into the many considerations and choices that restorers face in bringing the past back to life.
The experience combines cultural history with museum practice, so you learn both the house's story and understand the work behind preserving and reconstructing Danish cultural heritage.
