Santrofi – a Ghanaian collective – comes to A-Huset to present highlife music in a fresh way. The band consists of seven musicians led by producer and bassist Emmanuel Kwadwo Ofori, bringing together horn players, bass and call-and-response vocals in perfect harmony and choreography.
Santrofi grew out of a love for highlife – the joyful, horn-driven dance music the band members grew up with in Ghana. They are known for tight grooves, jazzy horn explosions and an impressive live show with synchronized dance. Their debut album Alewa was praised by The Guardian for its "immaculate" playing, and their new album Making Moves – produced and mixed by Grammy winner Jerry Boys – blends funky dance tracks with heartfelt songs about life. The band has collaborated with artists such as Black Sherif, Kidi, Yaw Tog and AratheJay and performed at Roskilde Festival, among others.
