Looking for a break from studies, deadlines, and screen time? Try forest bathing in Riis Forest – a guided nature pause where you can fully relax and recharge over two hours.
Forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) has Japanese roots and revolves around engaging all your senses in nature. We significantly slow down and create space to feel, listen, smell, and simply exist. As a guided participant, you can feel completely safe and focus on relaxation. Movement through the forest is calm and quiet, and we perform simple exercises emphasizing presence – walking meditation, sitting or lying contemplation.
What you'll take with you
- Relief from performance pressure and mental clutter
- Greater peace and a calmer body
- Renewed energy and sharper focus
- A unique and mindful nature experience
Afterwards, we gather around coffee or tea, where you can share your experiences – completely optional.
How to participate
This event is designed for students seeking peace and distance from mental chaos. You need no previous experience with forest bathing, mindfulness, or meditation – the only requirement is that you can walk 2-3 km at a gentle pace through varied terrain.
What to bring
- Mat or blanket to lie and sit on
- Water bottle
- Clothing and footwear suitable for the weather (can get dirty)
- Warm layers, as you'll be sitting and lying still in the forest
Free trial session. Organised by FOF Aarhus. Meeting point: Salonbroen (The Red Bridge).
