Two British folk artists bring their distinctive styles to Aarhus. Spitzer Space Telescope has spent two decades performing his original folk repertoire and, now based in London, has joined the acclaimed Broadside Hacks collective. His approach merges the classic 1950s–60s folk singer tradition with contemporary energy, drawing inspiration from legends such as Pete Seeger, Theodore Bikel, and Buffy Sainte-Marie.
Jennifer Reid explores working-class song traditions through dialect-specific interpretations from Lancashire and Manchester. In recent years she has gained remarkable recognition—through collaboration with Eliza Carthy and performances for international brands such as Chanel—and her artistic profile is woven into both film (Shane Meadows' The Gallows Pole) and festival culture.
The event is created in collaboration with Aarhus Rammeslagslaug, which presents record selections before, between, and after the concerts, immersing the audience in a complete folk cultural experience.
